Meet Dave
Hey, I’m Dave Chambers and I run this place…
I was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa where it’s hot and humid in the summer and cold as heck in the winter. The Missouri River divides Council Bluffs from Omaha, Nebraska which together makes up a large, metro area.
IN THE BEGINNING
One month after High School graduation in 1972, through a connection of a friend of a friend of my fathers, I traveled to New York City to begin a new adventure and direction in my life. After being accepted by an Associate Professor of Oceanography at NYU and BU to sail and study on board a 53′ sailing yacht, it was a semester at sea, sailing to African, Europe, and the Mediterranean. Four years later I landed in Ft Lauderdale and Miami, Florida. I had sailed approximately 18,000 miles, with two Trans-Atlantics, the Med, the US East Coast, Bahamas, Caribbean Sea, and many Islands. I love Islands, and I love the Sea.
DIRECT SALES
I became involved in sales through the yachting industry, but the economic times were very difficult in the luxury item industry during those years. I found an opportunity in the Environmental Industry. My claim to fame during the 80′s and 90′s was being the #1 salesman in North America for Used Oil Furnaces. I’d developed a sales program (along with other complimentary equipment) which made it nearly impossible for customers to say “no” to me. I’d developed and transferred into new territories from the Carolina’s, to the Heartland, and then finally to Arizona. Over a fifteen year period the “niche” had run its course.
INTRODUCTION TO REAL ESTATE
In 2000, while watching TV, a commercial for 40 acre parcels at Stage Coach Trails was offered on the screen. I called, made an appointment and then negotiated the purchase of two 40 acre parcels. During this purchase I met Tres Brooks, was impressed with him and the Brooks Company. Often I traveled through the state, and each time I’d stop by my property to dream. I would take time to stop in and step off the land to reinforce my ideas. In 2002 I completed the Arizona Real Estate School and signed on with The Brooks Companies.
BROOKS-CLARK & ASSOCIATES
During the past 10 years while creating a new life, I was also achieving new levels and goals in land sales. I have collected many awards, trophies and adulation through the best years in the Real Estate market. I began with Brooks at the Legend Ranch in Golden Valley office. It wasn’t long after when I relocated to the Stage Coach Trails office in Yucca while building the DC Ghost Ranch compound. Finally in 2009, I moved into the Lake Havasu City main office. The Real Estate Industry is one in which you cannot stop learning. Your challenges must be met daily, developing your knowledge and earning your experience as there is no shortage of competition. I look at my past as stepping stones which now seem easy when compared to the Real Estate business. I’ve always loved competing while being a professional in whichever industry I’ve lived. I feel that I have found my walk in life and in the land that I love. I have built a dream life for myself. I have built a beautiful home on my ground. I’ve built my business with the best professionals in our local Real Estate market. Each morning while driving into the city I look at the view and thank God for guiding me to this wonderful life in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
A MUSIC CONNECTION
My father was a forward thinking, businessman who started booking Plays, Shows and Concerts into Omaha in 1966-1967. Everything was happening then. Dad was a go-getter with good and creative ideas. I was 13 years old and didn’t think much about it then because it was just Dad doing something new and different. He was showing my sister and me pricing and schedules to book the popular bands. It was fun when he’d ask if we thought, for example, Paul Revere and the Raiders was a good band to book. I remember seeing a price tag of $300,000 to book the Beatles. That was huge money in ’67. It was an exciting time seeing the shows and sometimes meeting the bands backstage, at the Lakeshore Country Club, or even in our living room.
Once my friend Pat Mac and I rode with my Dad to pick up the manager for “Herman and the Hermits” and their opening band, “The Who”. Funny how that one worked out! My buddy and I just sat in the back seat listening to “Ron Sunshine” telling us about how this band smashed their guitars and instruments at the end of the shows. How they would have to immediately run to the limo because of the frenzy of fans and the girls. We were wide-eyed, being a couple of 13 year old kids from Iowa who’d never heard of such a thing. My sister was “The Hot”, high school chick who was invited, along with her friend Sally, to hangout with the bands before the show. Of course they were chaperoned by Dad. My sister told me how Keith Moon tried very hard to convince them to join the two bands at the “after show party”. There was no way THAT was going to happen. Can you imagine?
DC GHOST RANCH HOUSE CONCERTS
I suppose this had a major influence on me, and years later in January, 2010 when I attended my first House Concert. I’d never heard of house concerts before, but I remember telling the artist Jaime Michaels after his show, “It was the best time I could remember having”. At that moment, I was simply turned on to this new scene. With the help of my friend Ben and his “Desert Stars House Concert Series” I was able to book John Batdorf for my first House Concert in February, 2010. I was lucky to be able to book such a great artist and gentleman for my first hosting experience. John was a huge success entertaining the 32 guests in my living room. He played his heart out, as if it were a crowd of 10,000. Since then John has been back to play solo and again with James Lee Stanley and Mark Rodney. Consequently, I’ve been able to develop a nice friendship with John who has also introduced me to several great artists whom have played at the Ghost Ranch or are booked to play at the new Ghost Ranch Concert Series in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. John Batdorf, Mark Rodney and James Lee Stanley played our summer concert, July 29, 2011 at the Aquatic Center Auditorium in Lake Havasu City.
2012/2013 Series Season
We will begin the new season series on Nevember 9, 2012 starring “Blame Sally” from the San Francisco Bay Area, California. They will debut our concert series at the gorgeous Bridgeview Room on the waterfront level of Shugrues Banquet and Event Center. We will also host the remaining Ghost Ranch Concerts at the beautiful, The London Bridge Resort Convention Center.
Our concert series season will be from November through April. It is our hope you will join us each month and help us continue to support these wonderfully talented artists and to establish Lake Havasu City as the London Bridge Indie Music Town! We welcome our new ASU students, our local and winter residents back into our fun “music-town” and special place to live.
Please review the season schedule and the Artist’s websites.

Hi Dave,
Well, I must say it was very interesting reading about how you became to be who you are today. Fascinating! I love the semester at sea. One of these days I do hope to come out to one of your concerts, and hopefully before you book someone that will blow out your career and you will totally forget who I am .
Have a wonderful weekend!
Janet
